when i was doing my a-level over here in KL, i've been a buffet goer...
cos, i'm pretty much a quantity over quality type of person... ^_^
and i've always told people, not to ask me if certain food is tasty, nice, or not, as i'll always think they're nice...
2 ways of looking at it,
it's either, my taste bud's not evolved much, or,
simply i'm a very contented person and have always felt grateful with whatever food that i'm given... (or fed)
during those days, our allowance was "little", (if not too pathetic)
and that, my buffet kaki, (who i refer as "boss") and i, will always look for cheap and good buffet...
and during those days... our mobility was limited, ie. it'll be around cheras, to kotaraya, to sg. wang...
i remembered, we went for shakey's buffet, then, we found this miramar hotel offered pretty decent buffet... at around RM15 (that year) per person...
we went for A try... ya, only A try... then, i remember, only shakey's buffet, we went back for a couple of time, with my roommate, and so on... i can't remember who...
then, when i started work...,
i remembered, during the earlier days, we went to try this "weng hua" hotel chinese dish buffet... (somewhere along Tun Razak, towards cheras/seremban), just ONCE...
and eventually... my taste's evolved and changed...
i'm still a buffet person, but i only love japanese buffet...
and i only love walloping down those fresh slices of sashimi...
sashimi, chawan mushi, a MUST...
the rest, more or less, 可有可無。(have it, not have it, nevermind, no big deal)
i started with saisaki, but location sucks... UOA downtown...
ever since i changed my job, no more KL job... i found going to KL is not enjoyable... (going to work)
due to the increase volume of cars... ie. the super duper traffic jam... arrrgh~~
then, the group that owned saisaki opened up shogun in 1U, that's good news to me...
i went there a couple of time, mostly with family...
many years ago, i remember going for reinassance hotel buffet dinner... when it's still about RM50-60 per person...
but, due to inflation, and also the weakening of MYR, nowadays, buffet at hotels will easily cost you RM100++ each, for eg. Le Meridien...
moreover... since i've started my work in the IT industry, there're simply too many events in hotels... of course, it's not that during those events, they offer good quality food for buffet, just like they offer it to other people at the cost of around RM100++ per person,
but throughout the years, it makes me not wanting hotel food as much as i did back in those years...
EXCEPT, japanese food... hehehe...
japanese food in hotels is the best... ^_^
and now, my stomach's very "valuable", it shall only take japanese food..., ie. if there's buffet... there must be slices of sashimi...
i'm really not so keen on those buffet which offer mostly cooked food...
irregardless what country-based...
I WANT MY SASHIMI~~~
