ya, as i've mentioned a couple of time, that i've stopped (kinda) my regular (that's the key word) facebook-ing and tweeting...
i'm back to square one, if to were to be contacted...
when i was telling him about my decision,
i mentioned about another thing...
back in the company that i last worked at... our MD never bought the idea of social networking...
as, during that time, as one of the bigger partners for the big blue firm, we're urged to sell their "advanced collaboration" thingy... which, one of the products is something for enterprise, just like facebook...
serious!! i think it's kinda SAD and PATHETIC that, their people have to say things like this, when mentioned about their products,
it only spells out very loudly that, THEY'RE NOT THE LEADER ANYMORE,
cos, they said, "oh, this is just like facebook, or, do you know about twitter?", or, something like, "you can wiki it", or, "our new version just look like MS OUTLOOK",
oh!! blind me!!
they should just go close shop, and concentrate at what they're good at, ie. servers, mainframe, or, web apps servers, etc.
than being such a clown in the market...
what more to say, they employ people from MS, WHO, used to be the no.1 person who pitched about the goodness of MS enterprise suite, and that, they've to now, switch direction and GIVE THEMSELVES A BIT BITCH SLAP ON THEIR VERY-SORRY-LOOKING FACE!! and mention to people now, about all the goodness about what they're selling now...
serious, that's CLOWN!!!
anyway... back to my topic, about our MD..
two ways of looking at it,
1. if you can get him to buy in, ie. you can probably sell it well, to anybody... that's positivity...
2. being an MD of a large firm as such doesn't even believe in the idea of advanced collaboration, not even emailing... to lead a big I.T. firm? you must be kidding, ha!!
ya... he didn't even believe in email communication..., well, to a certain extent, i agree with him, but like i said, you're in the I.T.industry, if you do not even have faith in what you're doing, or special insight in what you're doing, i don't really know what you're doing...
he share with us, a newspaper clips, on how much time wasted just to scroll and dig around email...
which I ABSOLUTELY AGREE WITH HIM,
and that's why, if you're reading this,
don't take forward as a pleasure...
(ok, i know, i was said, to be a spammer with my twitter... well, let me say again, tweeting is for fun, don't take it too seriously, k??)
while email used in work, is for serious matter...
i know it well... the big blue people like to simply forward emails, without even read the email first..
this, really is wasting people time...
there are really people, ie. workers, who you employed, who simply evolved themselves to be A MESSENGER...
and i bet you...
most of the workers, are now, just a messengers, rather than doing their work/task properly...
to stop it??
ha.. just put a rule in your company, no 'forwarding' email...
and talking about no-forwarding... ahem... i've another rant...
though i support the fact that you should not just simply forward emails without using your brain to process it first, (or do you have, BRAIN??)
but i also hate those, (not sure if outlook have this feature, but lotus notes has) who, writes email, and disable forwarding...
it's chicken and egg story...
if in a company, there're people who actually start using this feature provided,
that also means that, the employees here, really are GOOD AT FORWARDING...
though...
i still hate those who enable this feature, not to say that, i'll forward that person's email,
but by enabling that, i can't even 'reply to all', get it??
and i find that, those people, ESPECIALLY MANAGEMENT LEVEL, who actually use this feature, A COWARD!!
well... though, if you get a pro developer to crack it, they're able to write a code, to let you FORWARD THOSE EMAILS...
AGAIN, like i said, i won't forward, as it's not my habit...
but just thinking of the possibility to spite the person... hehehe... it thrills me...
oh... that's enough of my ranting... about emails... onasumi nasai!~~
Ps: those big blue, big orange people thought that, "advanced collaboration" will eventually replace the conventional collaboration, and as I've quit facebook/twitter (kind off) and that, I'll have to say, NO NO NO WAY!! Email still has its place...
