my favourite quote of the day...

Not many quotes I like…
Not many quotes I keep…

But one of them is this…
"We are so accustomed to disguise ourselves to others, that in the end, we become disguised to ourselves." ~  Francois de la Roche Foucald

Yes… there're plenty of disguised out there,
There're plenty of deceited out there...

"You Are Invited"

When we send out invitation to others, for eg. For a house party, etc etc…
Do we send out to these people, cos, he/she HAS TO be there?
Or, do we really want to see these people, and that, we'd like to see him/her to be there???
Tough question huh?

Well… it depends… (sounds like a bloody consultant!!)
Of course, if you're a person, who's true to yourself, you'll be able to answer,
We invite those who we want to see, and sometimes, we even politely and kindly reject those invitation that, we do not want to attend, cos, it simply… is meaningless… isn't it?

But of course, if you're a person, who's not true to yourself, or, who only act upon other's reaction, or expectation,
Then, you'll just do whatever that you're supposed to do…
And sometimes, you'll even fight for it, cos, you thought… people will judge you for if those invitation fails…

Anyway…
I still like these words…
"It's far easier to fight for principles than to live up to them." ~ Adlai Stevenson

Sometimes… due to a formality that we long belived in…
We fight for it,
We offend others, even the loved ones,
But then, the "result" is indeed, not what we longed for…
Ironic isn't it?
Sad huh???
Yes… to me, it's sad…
It'll be a sad life, that I'll rather not live in...

Tale of a baby… whose parents forgot her diaper bag...

… yes, we forgot baby's diaper bag…
When we realized it, it's too late, we're already half-way… and to avoid "argument", ie. his, or my fault…
We told each other, it's ok… (shame on us!)

Then, we headed to our dinner venue, ie. a nyonya restaurant…
Well… I thought, if really… baby needed to make a big poo poo… we could just stop somewhere, buy a big new pack of disposable diapers…
However, the problem was not that…
The problem was…
It's a nyonya restaurant, it's not baby's favourite food, she loves italian pasta, she loves japanese food (any of them, except the raw part!) but not something spicy, herbally, with strong smell and flavour…
So, nothing appetized her… sad huh??
Even sadder…
Since we didn't bring her diaper bag, there we did not have her bib (the one that's a small little compartment to "collect" the fallen food!) and neither did we have her cookies…
Ie. she didn't enjoy the nyonya food, but she's nothing else to eat…
Ie. without her bib, she's like… couldn't really function well over a dining table…
We gave her napkin, she didn't want, pulled it off her chest…
We gave her again, she's forced to take it, she knew… that, we forced it…
But then, when she'd the food in her bowl, she insisted taking away the napkin, where, I put the bowl of food on it…
Ie. the food and the bowl ended up on the floor…
And??
I knew it's  not her fault entirely, but the fact that, she couldn't control her emotion, I lost my temper too,
Took her little hand, slapped!!
Baby cried!!!
After lecturing for a while,
I took her out from the highchair, and went for a walk, talked to her softly this time, and talked to her again… to beg her to behave…
Again, I knew it's not her fault…  but she's to know that, especially in at the dining table, she should not let her food, or eating gears end up on the floor, that's our standard of table manner, no matter what…
Again, I knew she's tired… after a long day of journey… 4 hours drive…

Poor baby…
Sad?

I tell you a sadder part…
Please read on…

After dinner, back home…
Afte we cleaned up, washed up, brushed up…
Back in the room, comfy and cosy… all in our own cosy pyjamas…
She saw her diaper bag, the precious diaper bag…
She opened it… and hurray!! She saw her bib, the beloved bib… (yes, in a way, she's very well-behaved, which I'm pleased, and I Praise to God! Everytime when we seat her at her highchair, she would ask for bib, or if the bib's in front of her, she'd attempt to put it on, but then, of course, she's not able to reach the button/hook at the back of the neck to really secure it… but… baby, I appreciate that… you're a good and sweet little girl!)
Oh!! She saw her beloved bib,
Took it out… and attempted to put it on…
Gosh!! I wanted to cry… poor baby… and her bib…
And then, she saw the cookies…
But then, that time was late, and we're supposed to head for bed…
So, again, we've to disappoint her, and tell her "no, baby, we're going to bed now…"

Oh! Sad or not?

Ps: I still can't forget scene where the little innocent baby, trying to put on the bib herself… in the bedroom...

finally… I'd my banana leaf rice… lick...

Ya haha!!! After watching (he's the one who watched!) that episode, I think it's the first episode,
This was what we do last weekend…
Result? Not bad, satisfied, at least, we found it, saw it, ate it… ^_^V yatta~
Verdict?? Ok ok… I mean the food,
Price??? Wow wow!! Cheap~~~~ I mean, it's definitely half of what we can get, in town… ah haha… ok…  klang's not like not in town, but you get what I mean, right???

He told me, it's better to get up earlier, and get there before 11.30am, else, the place will be very crowded… so, we did…
Got there, found the place, found that famouse "seng huat" BKT too… but my point was, to have banana leaf rice, which I was craving, since before deepavali…
But while we're crusing around that area, looking for this "yap kee" (yes, that banana leaf rice shop!)
We found "chong kok", that klang famous kopitiam… ^_^,
I meant to look for it looooooooooong time ago, but we ended up somewhere near that ING building, had some BKT… (that place is full of BKT outlets anyway!)
We rounded that place, twice, failed to find "yap kee", he told me, that axian mentioned in his show, this place does not have proper sign board, ie. you can't really get it by crusing around and look for it from afar…
In the end, we asked a passerby, and he told us, "it's just down this road, 6-7 shops away!!"
Huh?? O.o really??? We drove past this row of shop twice, couldn't see a thing..
Ok… I was expecting to see an outstanding shop, with an outstanding crowd…
Nope!! Not in sights…

Arggh… I've to say, I'm lazy to write tonight…
Let the pictures do the job…

Oh, about the fried chicken… ah ha… if you ask me,
Of curry and fried chicken, I will say, the SJ's famous nasi lemak (chinese) fried chicken and even their chicken curry, IS THE BEST!! ^_^
(hehe… 2 of us, had 4 big chicken legs the other night, and it's still not enough… wa hahahahahaha!!! Chicken legs eh! Ie. the drumstick and the thigh together…, even better than KFC…)

Ok ok… 2 of these places, cost us around RM30, and we're FULL!!!
Good or not?

There's axian's video (not the full version…)~

Oi~ Casio~

This is about my digital cameraSSSsss…
Sad story… but not so sad… ^_^…

Ok, I ordered online the other day, for the casio exilim s880 battery, NP-20,
Yes, only available online, and from some ebay seller… I wrote an email to the local casio dealer for advice, ie. DKSH, no reply… #@^$%$&%$# damn you!

Fine!!!
So, I decided to order it online, since it's not like hundred bucks business…
By right… I shouldn't be blogging about it yet, but then… I just feel like talking about it…
There… I talk… ^_^

Our first digital camera, in 2004, olympus AZ-1,

We decided on that, as it's the first one that came out with TFT and wide screen…
That time, we're in HK, in fact, much more things to choose, but we picked this…
Happy with it…
In fact, till today, I still feel that, it's a great camera, and mind you, it's still functioning…

While we're picking camera, I actually wanted that sushi camera, ie. sony's early generation of digital camera,
DSC-U10 (or some sort!)

It's called sushi camera, cos, it's supposedly to be the size of sushi, the real size, not the one served in our coutry!!!! (sashimi's smaller, size of sushi rice is smaller… @#%^$#@^%$$ damn you!)
In the end, we picked that olympus, simply because, the size of the screen at the back, is so much bigger… ^_^…
(I still think these sushi cameras are cute, if you actually have one, yet to be tossed away, toss that to me then…)

Anyway, we lived with it, till 2008,
When we're going to tokyo again…
In fact, after we bought that olympus camera, I've always wanted a casio exilim,
At that time, the exilim's so slim, that it could fit into any leather card holder, and that, I thought looked nice… and that~ was the very reason, I wanted a casio…
So, finally, for the reason that, after the AZ-1 was plugged with a 1GB memory card, the start-up became slow… we bought a second digital camera, ie. casio exilim s880…

Ooh!! Nothing much "legendary" to talk about it… just a digital camera, though it's fast… much faster… however, we thought the picture quality in fact, is not that nice, as compared to olympus…
However, it still has some sentimental value to both of us… ^_^ why?? Cos, we used that to take baby's picture, in the hospital, when the doctor just took her out from my tummy… ghee… how sweet huh??

Then, a few months after baby's born… we used this camera to take many many of baby's photos… good!! Happy with it…
Till one day, the battery refused to be recharged…
There, that's when I started to curse, and looked into the product!
Gosh!! MADE IN CHINA!!!
I dug out the olympus AZ-1 in the drawer, MADE IN JAPAN!!
No wonder, no wonder!!!!!!!!
See!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You can't blame if for disliking china's product…
That's the type of quality you get…
I took out the battery, NP-20, and looked around those camera shops..
First thing they asked me, "what year did you buy?",
"2008" I said…
Reply?? "so old already! May not have the battery!"
What?? 2008, 2 years only and you told me, it's an OLD model??
Damn you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
See!! I kinda hate the technology makers nowadays…
(another long blog to talk about it… next time LO!)

After several months, and there, I decided to try that ebay seller…
Hope that battery works… else, casio!! I'll damn you to hell!!!
(the funniest product that I've seen, lately, of casio is… guess what?? A camera with GPS function!! @_@... Tell me, why do I need one? Phone with GPS yes, understand, but A CAMERA? With GPS??)

Casio! Oi~ casio~~

Apple, it will be...

Whenever I step into an apple shop… I have a feeling that, I'm looking into the future…
Then… I turn around, saw a computer/notebook retailer… gosh!! I think, I'm looking into the past century…
Come on!!
Those boring items, you should just start selling it to business people,
Retail? Leave it to the lively products to be displayed...

I put you back into my stomach...

Sometimes, when I'm carrying baby… I like to tell her stories… old stories…
Like…
How small she was…
How I could just put her on the pillow and nurse her, and look at her now??? She'll fight for the pillow and hug it…
Or…
How quiet she was… that, she'll just lie in my arms, quietly…
Sometimes, I tell her, how I wish, I can just put her back into my stomach… then I can carry her everywhere…
It's not that, I can't carry her, or bring her everywhere… but having a baby in your stomach… the feeling's kinda different, and it's kinda sweet…
Cos, you're in me…. ^_^

Now!!? Look at her…
She'll just wiggle, or fight against me, push me away, whenever I'm trying to be sweet and warm and cuddle her!! No!! She'd want me to carry her, when she wants it, not when I want it!! @_@

Sigh…
That's why, I wanna put her back into my stomach…
But I can't…
O.o

Fictional characters that I wish they're real...

A short one…
Cos, since I was talking about criminal minds to opening theme to boston legal,
So, I though I wanna talk about alan shore, no, I wanna talk about david palmer, and no, I wanna talk about house, dr. house, gregory house…
No, I'm not going to talk about them, haha!! Too many people can't wait to talk about them, share their "expertise" in drama-watching…
And since I've not been doing my "homework" well, I don't think I can be fit, in talking about any one of them…

It's just that, when I start to think about all these dramas that I like, I suddenly remember David Palmer…
Serious… one and only, if there's any fictional character that will be real, or that I really wish he/she exists in this real world, at least the world that I live in, the time that I'm in… IS David Palmer… and nobody else…
I'm not sure why, I know this is a character created and then "made die" many many years ago already… but then I still regard this as the most successful character and that Dennis Haysbert, IS David Palmer, and nobody else…
Of course, I'm not anybody to really comment if the current president's good or bad (come on, I'm not even an american…) but then, I thought David Palmer will be a good president… oh!! Though Sherry really sucks… (how nice if the president does not need to have family… usually their wives sucks… haha!)

Next in line is… House, Dr. House…
Yes, by having him, you know if one day, you're sick for some unknown reason, you may get healed…
Unlike the many many patients here… doctors probably will first do their job by telling the family, "be prepared…" crap… you know what I mean??
(well, speaking of which, I remembered, when we're in the sibu GH taking care of my father, there's a doctor… well… doctor alex teo, if you don't mind me mentioning your name… yes, this doctor, in reality… resemble most… of those that you will see in dramas, he always had a chinese kungfu book in his hands, while on duty, and his specs was kinda crooked… ie. the specs not really in perfect shape anymore, but he didn't bother to fix it, and he~~ dares to do/try whatever to help the patients, while the rest of the doctors in that hospital, would just stand there, and look helpless (plus HOPELESS!! Let me tell you, you don't want to be taken care by these doctors!) AND more dramatic part about him is, yes… because of the hopelessness of the other doctors, he actually lectured them… wa hahahahahahaha!!!)
Anyway… yes, Dr. House… a luxury in life, if you're the patient…

Next next next…
Though, I don't think it's that practical in most of our lives…
Is, Alan Shore…
It's not to say that, one day you may get into legal trouble, I mean the real big one, like you're in a murder lawsuit or something…
But then, seriously, if you're in that deep trouble… you'll need Alan Shore..
Also~~ it's not that, if he~~~  knowing that you really are the real bad guy and purposely take away somebody's life, for no reason… will still continue to help you…
No, he won't… it's just that, if you… accidentally, for some good decent reason… have to hurt/harm someone, he WILL get you out of there…
That's my belief… in Alan Shore…
THAT good!!! ^_^
Ichiban!!!

And gosh!! I miss his courtroom gestures...

The OP theme...

Since… I talked about Criminal Minds just now…
I must as well mention that, I like their OP (opening) theme… a lot…
It feels very "criminal" ^_^, dark, and a little bit ghostly…
It's not that I like any of the elements as mentioned…
(though, I used to like to watch ghost stories, very dark stories/movies… but ever since I became a mother… there's a change in me, I do get disgusted watching Criminal Intent's documentary, or any of those ghostly stories/movies… but then… left one here, which I like… still… maybe it's just how nicely and subtly presented by the production team...)

I don't watch lots of series lately, and what more to say, following each and every episode…
If I really need to sit tight and watch it through, this is what I've to say to baby,
"baby, let mama watch for a while, it's very interesting, mama wants to see how's it going to end…" bla bla bla…
But yes, if I can, I will sit down and watch Criminal Minds… with baby… ^_^… don't shake your head LA… she doesn't really watch, she's not got the habit to watch any TV shows yet, so, normally she'll just disturb me, for 1 full hour… (ask me to draw, ask me for my boobs, ask me to be the "ride" for her… etc…)

But I seriously think that, this OP is pretty good… I know, it's not like it's damn good music… however, sometimes, I do hum the tune… just to present it darkness to disturb people…, weird huh?? @_@

AND~~ since I talk about OP theme…
I must as well tell you that, there're another 2 that caught my attention, or… simply, I like them…
Ie. House MD, and Boston Legal…
House MD's OP's kinda dark too…
In fact, House MD's and Criminal Minds' are quite similar… though, for the latter… it's not just the music itself, in my opinion, even the short clips has represented well what Criminal Minds' about… ^_^

And Boston Legal?? Ah… exactly the opposite…

I love Suit~

Actually I've blogged about it… kinda, in chinese ==> there you go… 迷戀了、你的西裝。
However… after writing such long jabbery jibbery blabbery thing…
I realised, I missed out something, some small thing… and today, I'm lazy to write in chinese… so, I'll do it here… ^_^ (ah! So inconsistent heh?)

The point is…
The suit… yep… I like man in this type of traditional-cut-fitting-tailored suit… of course, I'm not sure if those suits are really tailored, or they're off the shelves from some designers' outlets… however, yep… I like these type of suits, not those tight-fitting type of shirts and suits, where you can see the CHEST and the WAIST of a man!! Goodness gracious… they're just soooooooooooooooo gayish…
You may regard that as trendy, stylish, or fashionable… but hey!!
Tradionational suit… you try wearing it?
NOT ANYBODY CAN WEAR IT AND JUST LOOK LIKE… ahem… Aaron Hotchner… haha!!
(the picture I showed, he's not even in a proper suit, he's in the bullet-proof vest, but try looking at how he looks like in Criminal Minds, you'll see what I see… arrgh… I hope…)

While I say, NOT ANYBODY…
See, look at Spencer Reid…
There's still too much AIR in his suit…
And morgan?? The shirt may just burst…  haha… cos, he's too much muscle…
(please take note, I like all 3 of them, the thing about Criminal Minds is… there isn't any character, who, I wish, I don't see or hear... I like all of them, ALL!! And of course what my chinese blog's trying to say is… there's 1 hidden reason why I like this show SO much… it's because of??? O.o)
Aaron Hotchner's just fine…
Tall, and… ahem… ^_^, oh ya, I like his voice too… ^_^, or maybe the way he speaks??

Hiahiahia…
Ok, I found a Hotchner in suit… ^_^

Satoshi pirated?

I came across this photo from one of the food bloggers that I subscribed to… (sorry, I'm going to borrow your photo then…)
(the blogger's blog's in the photo…)

I thought, this guy looked like somebody…
Ya, I didn't bother to think further…
We've been to IR1968 @ Terrace @ Hock Choon before, I think I saw him, but I can't be sure… so forget it… ^_^

Anyway…
This photo, particularly… reminds me of satoshi…
Yes, satoshi tsumabuki, 妻夫木聰

Wa haha… don't you think, they look quite alike??
So, if you're j-dorama fans, and you happen to like satoshi, maybe you can drop by in IR1968, ^o^, hia hia hia~~~

Born with the Job

Ok… this was quite a while ago…
I went to do a full blood test in pathlab… ie. to test whatever they can test for you… cancer markers and so on… wow! The price ain't cheap nowadays… it's >300 bucks… gosh!
Anyway… since I've yet to do any thorough health check, I went ahead…
It's just… well… a place to get yourself poked… blood taken… and then, you wait for another week, for the report… fast and simple, just like fastfood…

But then, let me tell you…
When I watch "gokusen", (a japanese drama, if you're interested, please see here… http://www.dramacrazy.net/japanese-drama/gokusen/)
Kumiko's grandpa (the mafia's head) actually told her a couple of time, that… her "born job" is… to be a teacher…
Therefore, I like the idea that, we all have a job… that we're born to take it up…
A JOB!! (what job, I don't know… if you've the "calling", then you're lucky LO!! ^_^)

So, there goes my experience in pathlab, THAT DAY…
First person who "poked" me… ie. the girl, the girl on duty, who's perform blood extraction zillion time…
No! I'm not sure if it's zillion, cos, the badge on her chest says "trainee"… maybe, that's the preconception that I've got about her, THAT DAY…
So, when she's trying to get the blood out of me, with a syringe that's a big and thick needle…
And that, after >5 min, she only managed to get half of the tube… gosh!!!
She's getting panic… and so was I… come on!! What do you expect man!!! And she kinda "blamed" it on me, being panic…, that causes her failure in getting my blood…
Oh!! Come on!!
First, it's the fact that, she wore a "trainee" badge,
Second?? Well… I've to say, the way she talks, or the way she interact with me, is not "soothing" enough…
Her voice, her gesture, and so on… and hey!! I thought doing such job, it's better if you wear a pair of covered shoes? Instead of a pair of sandals?? Ok… sandal is a nice name, she's wearing a pair of flipflop, technically…
And I'm sure, when she went for job interview, there's not much requirement on the VOICE!!!

Anyway, in the end, that's what I got…

See the blueblack? It lasted for more than a week…

Then, that girl gave up… passed the job to her colleague, a guy…
That guy sounded senior, and experienced… and well… the way he talked, and smiled, reminded me of a local DJ… @_@
HOWEVER~~~ I thought too highly on him, I thought he sounded experienced, then, he'll be experienced…
And he acted experienced, he felt my blood veins, then, he took a smaller needle, I asked him why, he said, "your blood veins are pretty small, of course, we should use a smaller and thinner needle…", oh… I see…
Then again…
He… in the end, didn't even take a single drop of blood, and gave me this…

The one on the left…

So, they suggested me to take a rest… and I waited for another 20 minutes??
Finally, another girl, the girl we met, when we first entered pathlab, she was manning the front counter for sales, and accounting purposes…
(I guess, all of these staff in pathlab, actually take turn to do the chores, just like those workers in the restaurants…)
Ok… first, she beat the others flat… in terms of her voice… the way she spoke…
Soft, and gentle… and shall I say… calming??
Yes, I guess, she's that "talence"…
Oh, no! I mean Gift…
Yes, everybody's born with a unique voice, just like not everybody can be a DJ, or a singer…
There're some jobs, you just can't be trained…
Then, she found my nerve…
Put the needle in, I looked away… (I'd to, serious, I don't like to be poked!) and I heard her saying, "take a deep breath!"… see see see!!! She knows her stuff… and she knows when to get you to do this, and that, to calm  yourself down, instead of keep telling (blaming) me that, I should not be scared, should not be this, and that…
And just when I took my deep breath, she told me it's done!
O.o ooh! Wow!!!
Reflectively, I said, "wow!!! That's amazing!!", (ya… the one on the right…)
Yes, I didn't say it to please her or whatever, that's exactly how I felt THAT moment…
Cos, I didn't even feel a pinch after feeling her putting that needle in my arm…

That's the type of people!!! All medical field should keep and appreciate!!
Remember? There're things, that can't be trained…

And that, I remember, when I had my c-section in SJMC…
I remembered that anaesthecian, his voice, was just like this, and he could talk to me calmly (ie. that made me calm) and he explained all the process in very layman, and simple terms, during the whole session, in order to keep me informed, but not to fear me…
See!!!

Now, don't tell me, everything can be trained!!
NAH!! MY FOOT!!!

of tweeting… tools…

Ie. seesmic desktop, vs. tweetdeck…
I need to jot this down, IN CASE I forget again, and go through all the trouble to download and install… AGAIN!

See… I thought, tweetdeck on the ipod (most people are using iphone, whatever…) is pretty cool, better than the seesmic version,
As seesmic for ipod, I can't update to both (twitter & facebook)… yes, that sucks…
(and let's forget about google buzz - I've been using seesmic webapps to update to all 3…)
So, I'm using tweetdeck, for my ipod… that's fine…

But then, since now, I'm drawn to this cool-ness of tweetdeck, I mean, it kinda behaves all differently from seesmic webapps… (of course!)
So, I thought, I wanna try tweetdeck for desktop…
I downloaded that thing called adobe air… (%T#$^*#^@$#^#%)
And I downloaded and installed tweetdeck…
Fine, everything's fine…
Then, I saw something, which is THE thing that made me uninstalled it the previous time… ie. it doesn't support chinese words…, whatever tweet/updates that, I got on my twitter/facebook contacts, NO~~~ it's now shown…
Damn!

So, in install…
Then, I thought, since seesmic desktop has a new version, ie. 2!
I must give it a try…
Fine, again, it's fine…
But then, since I've seen this good "perks" from tweetdeck, ie. creating group updates column, and now, it's a MUST feature to me…
THEN, this nice little seesmic desktop (oh, again, runs on adobe AIR) SIMPLY DOES NOT HAVE THIS FEATURE!!
$^$^#!^&%&%$ yikes!
SO!!!!~~~~~~~~
I uninstall again.. (and again!!!!!!)

And now, I'm back to seesmic webapps...

To this list you can also add chores that are to be done monthly or quarterly. It's easier to plan for larger tasks like steam cleaning a sofa or heavy traffic hallway, then it feels like part of the routine instead of that thing you keep putting off and dreading.
Habits are formed by doing and one of the best ways to change a bad habit is to replace it with another action. So if the time spent right when you come home from work is usually filled with email reading and a small nap, try switching it out with your cleaning instead. Making the 20 minute time slot routine will build good habits and help you stay on top of the game without feeling like it's a real chore.
