When "Changes" sucks

I remember many years ago, I attended a weekend workshop organized by my previous previous employer
“who moved my cheese??”
(ya, it’s a book)
……

The company that I’ve just joined in this March, is currenly undergoing lots of changes… all in aim, to be more efficient…
Being new, there’s pros and cons…
Cons, is for me
Pros, is for the company… ^_^ (ie. Since company wants to have changes, it’s best to have new blood rather than retaining old blood that’ll resist change)
Ie. I’ve to fight with people who resist to adapt to the changes…

Basically… I’ve to fight with my colleagues in the northern region who resist to comply with the new organization chart
And also to fight with vendors who resist to the very same way…

In fact, to me it’s fine…
I had a heated argument with my colleague over the phone late last night…

cos, my job is to keep all information in 1 centralized place… however, there’re still stubborn souls out there, who resist to work in this format…
they prefer to take things in their own hands…. Again, that’s fine with me…
but then… suddenly, they decided to put me in the loop…
without asking them long questions and elaboration, I asked them one simple word “why??” (they know what I mean)
and they… actually gave me a long long explanation… of why they initiated certain nego and queries directly to those vendors…
serious, that’s fine with me…

as most of the internal people may think that, my department is to ‘control’, which in fact, IS
but I make my services to them, as to ‘help’, rather than ‘control’, and maybe it’s only me, having this motto…
however, there’re still bunch of people, especially the northern region people, who just seemed not to understand the whole point of this new organization…

after giving me the full length of ‘explanation’, she told me, “that’s why I keep you in the loop mah!!” (ya, like half way in the middle of nowhere, when you haven’t realised that you’ve been asking the wrong person, for the wrong thing and there’s still no response…)
I seriously told her that, it’s fine, and she didn’t even have to put me in the loop…
Cos, by putting me and my department that I’m reporting to, in the loop when it’s already half-cooked… meaning, they sense that, something’s going to go wrong and they need more people to help them to clean up the mess…
And for the second/third time I told her this, “I know you may not like the change, but it’s not matter if you like or not like, the change is already there, and you just have to work in according to that!!”
Ya, then, she said, she’ll ask her boss for opinion…
And ya, as if I’m scared, I seriously couldn’t give a #%#!%#%^#@ about it
And anyway, their “resistant behaviour” has already been notified to the management, and it’s not just this particular person… but nearly the whole northern region office…

There’re just people, who… I don’t know if it’s because they don’t understand the change, or they just don’t want to understand… or the worst thing that can happen to anybody is… they’re already lack of the capability to adapt to the change…

Hey… that’s when “changes” sucks… @_@

Process

Well… everybody knows I’m back to work… since a few months ago…

Anyway...
I’ve been wanting to write something here but couldn’t find time…
However, I guess… after yesterday’s event, it’s time for me to start my session here…
Sessions about my work…. Sessions about my colleagues, sessions about my office and so on…

My work…
Don’t ask me for details what I do…
When I reported myself to work in the 1st March this year, I couldn’t tell what department I’m reporting to… ^_^

Then, I slowly learn that, I gotta do pricing and costing for my internal colleagues…
That’s fine with me, but something that I hate doing I’ve to take on… which is nego, and bargain…
However, don’t get me wrong, I’m not a purchaser ^_^

Gradually…
I found out that, I’ve to help on marketing event, cos, I’m answerable to those vendors that I deal with...
I found out that, I gotta follow up on project (which is quite ok, cos I’ve done it before)
I found out that, I’ve to help the sales people to close the deal within certain timeline… again, cos, I’m answerable to those vendors that I deal with
I found out that, I’ve to basically take up those jobs that nobody’s a clue who’s the right person to do…
In the end, I realised… it’s all because what my department is called and it kinda sync with our company’s vision ie. “to be the partner of choice” and my department is called “partner management”, a.k.a…. everybody is our partner, and that we’ve to help… the vision sound great and grand… but the work is not easy…
However… it’s all fine with me ^_^
Maybe it’s because…
Well… frankly… I don’t really need to work (ya, don’t tell him about that ^_~)
I choose to go back to work, cos, I want some satisfaction and inspiration…
And the funny thing is, I actually put this in my CV… one of my line is, “to get inspirsed and to inspire others”
ya, I know, you don’t get to see things like this in a proper CV… therefore, I’ve always told people my boss is a brave woman….
She dared to take me up and out, after my 3-year hibernation and irregardless of my CV ^_^

… to be continued

Transformers 3x

Haha!!! Yep, went to watch this show 3 times…
Of course, I won’t allow it to beat my “batman beginis’ record, ie. 4 times… christian bale must always stay at the top…

In fact, I couldn’t bother to really watch it when the movie was released in m’sia… but I guess that’s the whole reason…
That week, IBM invited business partners for this show… ie. It’s free…
After those who’re supposed to be there, turned down the chances one by one (5 seats per company) I went to fill up the slot…

Before, I went… my colleague, who’s supposed to go and eventually turned down, told me like this,
“I’m not going, you can take the seat and go… in fact, I watched it once last week already, and I plan to watch it again this Friday”
Woo~~~
So, I asked, “so, how’s it?”
AWESOME is the word…

Ya, later I saw one of my other friend online… his ‘signature’ was “Transformer – Awesome, funny and …”
“awesome” is the word I rarely use, however, it seems like awesome is the tagline for Transformer ^_^

Ok then…. I won’t talk about the movie much…
But then… I was err… ‘captured’… by whatever reasons, or factors that they put in this show, while some shows nowadays, do not have it…

2 days, later, when he came back from business trip, we went to queue up for movie tickets again…
But, the sound system was crap and half way throughout the show, the visual went blurry … ie. From this half-way of the show, towards the end… we couldn’t see a very clear picture… damn that cinema!!!! For your information, it’s Sunway Pyramid’s new cinemas…

Coming out dissatisfied…
We aimed to have another round… till last weekend…
Went to cineleisure…
We planned to watch all the shows in 1 day... ya, call me crazy…
So, we managed to get tickets for “Harry Potter – the Order of Phoenix” and “Die Hard 4.0” for that night… but failed to get “Transformer”
Cos, even after 2.5 week of showtime in the theatre, seats are still limited if you don’t act fast…
… we managed to get the next day’s ticket, lunch time…

Yep… after this… you won’t expect me to be going for movie for a long long time… what else is there…
For all the metals, and machines, and speed, it’s already maxed-up in Transformer already, the rest… just seem to be too ‘baby’ from now onwards…
