Smile

You know.. I was thinking… when in bed, last night…

Sometimes, thoughts just rush into my mind without warning and that caused me sleepless nights…

And my mind just wanders, wanders and wanders away…

I was telling him the other day…

(I'm not going to talk about photography, ok? Cos, I know nuts about this topic, and I don't intend to know more by effort, unless somebody just shares with me on their thoughts and opinion)

I told him,

What type of photos I like to look at…

In fact, I like to see any photos that my friends, any of my friends take…

As that reveals the other side of my friends (or, people I  know).. Which is not sealable, or coverable…

How a person takes a photo, is basically how the person sees things, or people(faces)..

So, it's very interesting for me to see, how they see things…

(and vice versa)

And I don't suppose, you can hide how you see things…

Unless you don't snap any pictures…

For eg. Our friend mr. wong, the set of pics he took when he went to tokyo alone, vs. the set that he took, when we went together… are different…

I like the photos that he took, when he went there alone, that's how he sees tokyo… very modern, nice, and quiet…

While we went together, I guess, all of us, kinda affected/influenced each other's view… ie. when we snap, it's already not 'pure' as how we see…

Therefore… guess what? Most photos look similar… haha!!! (what's the point of bringing so many cameras then!)

And there're some of my online contacts(not just multiply, but also facebook and others), they photoshoped too much of the photos that they've taken…

I know, some of them think that without photoshop (heavy, or light) it's like a girl, without makeup (that reminds me of my other friend who actually said "oh no!! If I don't put makeup, how am I going to go out?"

Haha…

There goes my mind…

Then, my mind started to wander to another piece of land…

Makeup!!

I don't grow up in the 'makeup' environment, maybe it's all because my mother, ONLY had one bottle of oil of ulay in her wardrobe, and that's all she has…

So, I don't put things on my face, or pierce my ears…

It's my upbringing…

And I thought they're unnecessary…

(ok, what I'm going to say, it's not about right or wrong, k?)

I thought about colouring my grey hair, many time… in the end, I don't bother…

Luckily still got people employ me…

And that's the point…

I want other people to see me, as me, not as what I've worn, or put on my face, or my hair… or, hanging on my neck..

Maybe you dislike me, for being me, that's ok…

If you like me, as being me, I think, I'm blessed!!! Very much blessed!!!

And I also thought that, all these makeup/accessories, are kinda… "out of the world", a little bit not real…

Like I said, it's my upbringing…

I like to see real things, I like to see people, as real as they are, maybe vulnerable, but real,

(don't you think, we've put up too many of masks the older we grow, or, with more people we meet? Cos, we tend to mould ourselves to become who they want to see!!)

And therefore, back to my photograph, I like to see 'real' photograph…

Maybe this thing about photoshop, is, that, the photographer couldn't get what he really wants to see, so, he intends to 'correct' it by using tools…

Maybe,

Ya, maybe it works…

But I still regard that, as a 'correction',

I like to see 'naked'(original) photos..

It's the purest piece of the person who took it, at that very moment…

Our friend, caljes, tends to take FUNNY pictures of ours..

Which, I liked to complain, however, I do appreciate it…

Cos… I know… then, that's why this person see us, or rather…

OH,  WE CAN BE SEEN THAT WAY!!

And back to makeup… (sorry that's how my mind wander, and as I write, that's how my thinking works, kinda hay-wired, I know)

I thought… God has given us all a very good makeup kit…

Our SMILE!

I like to see MEN, smile with the teeth seen, I know most people think it's kinda awful, but I like it…

And for women, I like to see the smile too, in the photographs..

The real smile, I mean, the real, from deep down in your heart, pure - makes any woman very beautiful…

IF THERE'S ANYBODY WHO ACTUALLY TOLD ME HE/SHE DOESN’T LIKE TO SMILE, ("THAT'S JUST ME!" HE/SHE SAID)

Then, I think, I've to pity this person, cos, it's very miserable for him/her…

Or, basically he/her can't even feel the love, or the beauty, of this life, and this world… even a single little bit…

And the real type of smile (I'm not talking about the mona lisa's smile though)..

To me, it's the type, that shows a little bit of teeth, and the mouth open a little bit…

Weird huh!! ^_^

Cos, I thought, and I can see, there ARE people putting up their smile, while taking photos… but some of them, look pretentious, they put it up, simply just to show that, they're friendly/nice person, but in fact, they're not that much of the person they try to portray… hahahahaha!!! For eg. One of the girl I've kinda worked together before… (some of you must have heard me complained zillion time about her already, neh, miss chai… yak, so pretentious!)

Generally, all my friends like to smile…

And therefore, I think… they're very beautiful…

I mean, the type of smile, that their hearts mean to have, not their minds…
