Are you the type who can live with your email inbox having more than 100 unread email?
Well, I'm not, ^_^, that's why for a bare minimum, I still have some anxiety…
Apparently he's the same type too…
I just can't bear to see my inbox being bold,
All the mail has to be kinda read..
And throughout the year, that kinda gives me new breed of bad habit, I read between lines,
Cos, I'm used to just quickly browse through my inbox, and archive them, or sort them out…
I JUST SIMLY CAN'T BEAR TO SEE MY INBOX having UNREAD emails… and it'll appears as big black bold…
I just have to quickly read them, or, when it gets too many, I'll just delete them, I just can't let them sit in the inbox, INDEFINITELY!! Without action taken… (that's why I'm anxious most of the time)
But I'm amazed that, there ARE people who can live with it..
Some having a few hundred unread emails, some probably even a thousands…
Question is… if it already goes up to more than 100 mails in your inbox, and if you can't just do it right now, to finish reading them, or to at least have a quick browse,
ARE YOU GOING TO READ THEM LATER? When??
Especially in terms of work, every single day, there're so many new emails keep popping in to your inbox,
Will you actually go back to 1 week ago, and read what's happened?
In terms of work, what's happened, already happened,
Problem, by the time you read, probably already been solved, or, already mutated to another bigger problem (and therefore, more emails)
It's just a never-ending story… mind you!
And when I was still with the workforce, in fact, I hate it when people, upon failing executing their job, or taking action, their excuse is, "I'M TOO BUSY, THAT I HAVEN'T CHECKED MY EMAIL!!" (that reminds me of 2face THE colleague!!)
I've never regard "not reading email" as an excusable reason for failure, (unless you die, and can't come out of your coffin to check email!)
In today's working world, reading email IS working…
If one can't even read email, IN TIME, so, what've you been doing?
Like I say, I simply can't understand,
And having thousands of NEW mails sitting in your mailbox, I also can't understand…
In fact, this is triggered by my opinion regarding facebook's notification, (or, some games' invitation, free gifts, etc.)
Cos, I'm sure, some of you, your facebook account, on the right hand panel, from top to bottom, there're a lot of 'unopened' invitation, which, by right, you should just to in to either accept or ignore…
Hahaha, I know I know, this is just an example, afterall, facebook is for fun, it's not as serious as work… of course, we're free to not to go in there and take a look, cos, in facebook's platform, we're all free soul, we can do whatever we want, or, say whatever we say, or even be whoever we want to be!! (ya, I also know of friends who've several IDs, $#@%#$^@^#$^@%)
But back to my anxiety…
I can't live with these things sitting inside my facebook,
So, from time to time, I'll just go in, ignore most of the invi/free gift…
And for notification, I'm very sure, will want to make them as 'read'…
See… I started thinking of this, cos, lately I just started using this "event" feature on facebook, which, now, I use it to organize our Sunday brunch…
Some people, accept,
Some people, decline,
Some people, just don't know if it's because they don't know how to click the button, or they don't bother to go in further to read what's in there, (cos, I believe it'll pop up in their right hand panel, as one of the event invitation)
And it leaves this people appear as "no status" to me, no accept, no decline,
Some friends who're very close to me, I know that they're busy, I'll separately send an sms to them,
Some, serious, I can see them coming up on facebook, do status update and whatever things and so on…
But still no response…
See… if you decline.. It's also not a big deal, but leaving it hanging as such, it's quite a 'big deal' to me…
As… most of the time, I'll be nursing, or sitting in front of computer and start getting my brain to work, to think, to imagine, then, I can't help but to think that,
These people? They use facebook just to update their status?? - ok, forgivable then, everybody uses a tool differently… (there's a difference between using a tool to its full extent, or just use it, as A tool!)
Or, they don't know how to navigate in facebook? (most possible reason)
My conclusion…
Most people, just use it for status update…
The rest? (of the features) they just don't bother, and can't be bother…
Ah… it's ok it's ok…
Then, I'll just do it the conventional way… ^_^ (ie. email, if desperate enough, maybe sms, the thing is, it's never desperado… it's JUST ANOTHER SUNDAY BRUNCH!)
