This one is a simple AUDIO player... I said AUDIO, don't ask me why it cannot play movie, k??
Evil player,
http://www.evilplayer.server-host.com/
good to use when you're doing your work, and u just want to listen to music on your desktop, especially if your PC is not that high-end...
This one is a gecko engine based browser, just like Mozilla, however I find it less heavier on my PC, as in less heavier on resources..., and I find it particularly good for accessing multiply.com website
K-Meleon

If you want to cut your .mp3 file, this is a good one, idiot-proof...
MP3 Direct Cut

Same for your .mp3 files, if you want to edit their tag, as sometimes, their file name, or file's info looked crumbled in character on your audio player, you can use this to edit... very useful, if you want to manage your mp3 correctly...
MP3 Tag

Sometimes when you download files, either some technical error, or suddenly the connection lost, with this, you can resume, I know there are some other good ones out there, but I find this pretty 'comfortable' to use...
Free Download Manager

Ooh~~ I found this software the other day, ya ya, I know, it's been there for a while.. but then, didn't really bother to explore the usage... I personally prefer this than Google's picasso, as picasso, the moment you finished installation, it'll start picking up all your image files on your desktop... nah!!! that's not what I want... whereas with shutterfly, I can edit my image files, put some filter on it, or apply some pattern over it... it's pretty interesting... for eg. you don't need a special sepia roll of film to take sepia effect photos anymore... etc.
Shutterfly

Same as the above, however, this one doesn't have great look-and-feel, but easy and simple to use... serve the purpose, I decided to keep it on my desktop
Pixia

Ooh.. this one is useful for me... I suppose there are many out there, who install a small notes reminder, or so on... or those desktop stick-it, however.. if you're an outlook user, (don't condemn outlook here, I'm also a anti-microsoft person, however, sad to say, I am a conformist in this sense :-( how contradicting huh!!) then, this software will pull out your 'task' and 'calender', and if u enable it to start when you startup your windows, it serves as pretty good reminder of what you need to do for the day... ya ya, I know, I'm a non-working GAL, but then, I am in charge of paying bills, or, paying credit cards and so on... it's good as reminder...
Desk Task

What's running on your desktop, windows' 'task manager' does show you the task, but lack in more detailed description, whereas, this one does... so, you know exactly what are the services that's running and you know it's from what programmes, otherwise, can you tell me directly what the 'mdm.exe', 'alg.exe' means? don't ask those techy people, this is for people like me, who will only understand, if you explain to me in layman-term :-)
