Not me, I'm not talking about me…
As I've been into reading/viewing all those amateur, oh, basically anybody, who loves scribbling, drawing… and publish them online,
Of course, first is geek & poke,
Then, xkcd - this one, probably is considered very crude, but the "story", or the tell-tale's pretty cool..,
So, I was looking around and digging around the internet, for some cool cartoon like this,
There I found a… I think he (not sure if it's a SHE, cos, at that age, hard to tell)'s a ukranian kid, around 15 years old, but his cartoon's pretty impressive…
See… I've always (well, kinda) regretted that, I've not learnt properly, how to draw…
Or, learn something like graphic design, something like this, then, I can draw draw draw…
My cousin, I shared his website before, draws,
My other cousin, from my father's side, draws too…
I thought, a kid who likes to draw, can pretty much express himself/herself pretty well… at least you channel your feeling through drawing…
Then, I suddenly remember…
Asian kid, or maybe chinese kid, we're not really allowed to express our feeling, when we're small, right??
Do you recall, when we're about 5 year old (I think, it's old enough for you to remember things), your parents, or any elderly actually asked of your opinion??
Well… I don't really recall such occasion, though, I, at least, am grateful that, I gotta pick my own clothes, my own toys, my own stationeries, etc. as a kid…, but then, I do remember several occasion, when I actually said out my opinion, which is a sincere opinion, k??
And feedback is,
"you're so straightforward!",
"you're not so good, cos, you don't even bother to sweet-talk",
Arrghh… something like that…
Therefore, what I can remember is,
Chinese kids, are not brought up to express our feelings…
Kinda sad…
And what more to say, we're not taught too much to express it through drawing, or writing… oh!! At least, I'm pretty glad that, I started my diary at the age of maybe 12? If I've not remembered wrongly… ^_^…
I do hope, one day, my baby will pick up some way to express her feeling, drawing, music, writing… just somewhere… for her to channel her… if not great frust!!
Therefore, I told her just now,
"baby, if you dulang, don't tell me, draw it!", haha…
(sorry, actually I've just swear… it's a damn vulgar term, but then, it's a "good" word to use, when you gotta express your FRUST!!!, to simplify it, I learned from my ex-partner in ingram, ie. "very DU"~~)
And what I've just told baby…
Tells… I'm just another typical chinese parent!!!
Sigh...
