PARENTS VS. PARENTS

just this afternoon, I was watching CSI NY... ya... it's been a loooooooooong time since I last planted my butt on the couch and sat through a show... today, baby's in better mood!! (ya, better, she's been cranky over the weekend, maybe due to her teething problem, the 3rd, and 4th upper incisors, I supposed!)
the story... was about a teenage girl, killed in a car accident, while she's riding her bike, knocked down by a car...
girl's mother was very very very sad, and very very very angry... (of course!!)
and the person who drove the car, was very cooperative, and that, he's sent to the prison for 18 months.... (ya, it's an accident, I know that too, but then, sigh... that's how much a teenage girl's life worth!)
then... 18 months passed by, the man was released...
and mac taylor, due to some incident, suddenly recalled the case, and realized that, the man, who's put into the prison... might not be the driver at that time...
I'll skip the details...
the point was...
that man, was actually covering for his daughter, who's just finished her housemanship, who, was the one driving the car, and knocked the girl down..., which eventually got the girl killed!
according to the man,
the whole of his life, standing at the road side stall, selling hotdog (or, whatever..., taco, maybe) 10 hours a day... hoping to see the success of his children...
and that night, that accident, he's not going to let it ruin his daughter's future...
that's why, immediately, he jumped off the car, and pushed the daughter away, asked her to hide from the scene...
and of course, on the other side, the girl's mother's still in great grief, hearing that, the man's released, she even hired a hitman, trying to kill the man, but in the end, she pulled the brake...
at first, when I saw the mother... (before, I saw how that man described about his life, how he wanted his kids to be successful, rather than selling  hotdog at the roadside!)
I was thinking... hm... if I'm that mother, I'll sure want to kill the driver too... ya, accident, nobody wants it but sometimes, obviously it's a stupid accident, IF THE DRIVER PAYS MORE ATTENTION?????
then, I saw the man, telling mac taylor about his life, his children, bla bla bla...
now, the question is,
yes, he'd gone to jail and had come out...
but the police was still trying to find out the real driver, at the scene,
then, they got his daughter...
to the father and daughter, they simply think that, as long as somebody would be sent to the jail, the "crime" will be paid-off...
which, of course, the police won't think so, and neither did the mother of the girl...
THAT, putting aside...
I actually thought again, if I'm the man, very probably I'll be doing the same thing too...
ya... in one way, I know well the good old saying, ie. if you commit a crime, better turn yourself in, else, you'll be "on the run", the whole of your life..., or, else, your conscience will never let your mind rest!!!
YES, I'LL KEEP THIS IN MIND~~~
but then, at that point in time, that man made this decision, ie. stand in for his daughter... just like what he's described to mac taylor, THAT also said that, his life's gone, and 1 foot in the grave, his daughter, a future doctor, will have a much better and greater life than he's ever had...
and she seemed to be able to live with it, pretty well... (unlike some  movies, once a person made mistake, accidentally killed somebody, will never be able to sleep soundly at night!) cos, she thought that, her father's stood in for her, and had gone to the prison for her...
in the end, she turned herself in, crying, and told the police what really happened...
ok... she said, she's just listening to what the father'd instructed...
THAT again.. post a question,
the "decision" the father's made for his daughter, ie. runaway (probably, really, the whole life, maybe not physically, but sure, emotionally, spiritually, and etc.) may not be the best "arrangement" for his daughter...
he thought, by doing that, his daughter could continue her life being a doctor, in the "high" society...
but then, UNLESS SHE COULD TOTALLY FORGET ABOUT IT AND LIVE PROUDLY, AS A NORMAL DOCTOR,
else, her life may indeed be ruined, just on that night...
but being parents, as parents, at time, we do make decision, which, during that very moment, we think, is the best for our children...
conclusion??
no conclusion LO, this blog of mine!! ^_^
only got more things for my mind to work on, in the middle of the night...
ie. which is which, right or wrong, if I'm the parent, how?? bla bla bla... crap! ^_^
