Flags of "their" Fathers

^_^ i didn't mention that we went to watch "Flags of our Fathers"... while it was released in Oz...
mm... it's not a film that many like to mention after they watch it i guess... even though it's more 'mentioned' before it's in the theatre!!!

mm... nothing much to say about a wartime movie... besides death, and more death...

one thing worth noted was that, while we were in the cinema, we noticed, there weren't many people from the younger generation... the theatre was, err... 20% filled, or less.. and besides us, i guess, the rest of the 20% were mainly old men... which i guess, were directly or indirectly involved in that war, or other similar war that's being shown...

actually, for a moment, i felt sad seeing them, standing there, while the movie was finished and they started showing all the real-life photos on the screen, and those old men were just standing there, staring at the screen... i quickly moved myself out of the theatre, scared that, i'll break into tears again...
i wouldn't way i feel how they feel, but i more or less know what the movie was about...

as i said, wartime movie, nothing much to talk about and nothing 'exciting' to talk about.. besides deaths...
the only interesting part was the very end, where the main character John (young John played by Ryan Phillippe, he's still cute and still very Ryan Phillippe, (i thought he's sparks in his eyes ^_^) after all these years ^_^) finally passed away...
one thing he said... that, there's no real hero... when they're fighting in the battlefield, they fought for their friends, fought for those they loved...

Coincidently... i watched a japanese movie, called "Bokudachi no Sensou" (Our War)... it's slightly lighter and more towards those sci-fi storyline.. however, in the end, the leading actor also said the similar things... ie. "i don't care if i'm fight thing for a war, or for our country, but as for me, i'm fighting for my friend, for those that i love!!"...

i'm very much looking forward to the release of the japanese side of story, ie. "letter from iwojima", starring Ken Watanabe, and my favourite Nino-chan (pronounced as 'chyan') from Arashi... \(^o^)/ i'm sure he'll do the role well...

^_^.........
